This week, Dewey Group had its first placement in Jersey. We were approached by a client looking to recruit a trainee piling operative to work on a project they have out there for the next 9 months.
So on Monday, Craig (a relative of one of our experienced operatives), flew out to Saint Helier to start his career in the piling sector.
Dewey Group wish Craig all the best – this is an amazing opportunity for him to learn the piling trade and develop a career by working alongside a number of experienced rig operators, banksman and concrete operators.
He will be spending the next 9 months, working on a residential project with one of only two soil-mixing machines in the world – which is certainly a great way to get started in the piling industry.
But, it won’t be all work for Craig with Jersey being home to some of the best Michelin star restaurants in the UK, the sunniest place in the Isles and let’s not forget the beautiful scenery.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Irish Sea we’ve got Callum, Ian and Alan over in County Kildare, Ireland with another new client. Working on the exciting redevelopment project of the world renowned Curragh Racecourse – famous for being home to Ireland’s ‘five classics’ every year.
Having an extensive history from the first race dating back to 1727 and chariot racing dating back to as early as the 3rd century, it is no wonder that it has been home to some of the greatest horses and jockey’s to grace the racing world.
Feedback from the client has been excellent, Callum, Ian and Alan have fitted in well to the team and are helping to keep the project on schedule – Keep it up lads.
